The first phase of the project started with relocating and building a temporary ambulance and patient entrance. The two-story, 55,000-square-foot expansion includes state of the art treatment, exam, and trauma rooms with a modern, light-filled lobby. The addition is a 24-bed unit Observation Unit and 4,000-square-foot Community Center dedicated to providing care to non-medical patients. The planning, procurement, and installation of the medical equipment was facilitated by Turner’s subsidiary, SourceBlue. The new facility is expected to reduce patient wait times for one of the busiest emergency departments in the Pacific Northwest.

After the Phase Two renovation of the old emergency department is completed in 2025, the project will have doubled the square footage and the number of treatment spaces of the emergency department.
