“It’s exciting to be able to work together with the other committee members to plan events that can be meaningful and impactful for the young professionals in the construction industry,” De Kalb said. “I look forward to seeing what’s in store this upcoming year.”
“We’re so proud of Briana for taking on this role of AGC committee Chair,” Senior Project Manager Ryan Silbernagel said. “She is always seeking new opportunities to expand her knowledge and make connections with other industry professionals, which perfectly aligns with Sundt’s core value of service.”
De Kalb is currently involved in Sundt’s key projects in the Northwest, including the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvements and the Willamette Water Supply Water Treatment Plant. She previously served as a Field Engineer on the Sellwood Bridge project. She officially joined the AGC Oregon Columbia chapter committee in 2022 and served as Vice Chair in 2023.
The committee’s plans for the upcoming year include hosting in-person and virtual meetings focused on leadership topics such as building a positive and productive project and company culture, and engaging minority, women-owned, emerging small business, and service-disabled veteran business enterprises for inclusive project delivery. The group also plans to incorporate more networking social events for young professionals to gather and meet new people in a casual setting. De Kalb and the committee hope these events can help bridge the workforce gap in the construction industry in the Northwest and at large.
