PORTLAND, OR — The Sundt Foundation announces the distribution of $19,800 in grants to four nonprofits in the Portland-metro area.

“Our foundation members are honored to contribute to these outstanding organizations, each making a significant impact on the lives of individuals in our community,” said Ken Kubacki, Sundt Foundation Board Member for the Northwest region. “Each nonprofit selected this quarter is committed to promoting social and economic development, education, and justice in our community.”

Black United Fund of Oregon (BUF-OR) received a $5,000 grant. As the longest-standing Black-led, BIPOC-focused foundation in Oregon, BUF-OR has been championing the African diaspora community for four decades. The grant will support BUF-OR’s initiatives that have positively impacted over 75,000 marginalized Oregonians, promoting social and economic growth and contributing to a more equitable and inclusive Oregon.

Heart of Oregon Corps Inc. (HOC) has been awarded a $4,800 grant to further its mission of providing workforce training and continuing education to youth ages 16 to 24 in Central Oregon. With a focus on career readiness, HOC empowers youth through hands-on projects that benefit the community, providing training in conservation, construction, childcare, and customer service. The grant will aid HOC in continuing its impactful programs that create pathways out of poverty for young individuals.

Active Children Portland (ACP) was awarded a $5,000 grant. Since 2011, ACP has been empowering K-8 students in the Portland area’s lowest-income communities to lead healthy lives and succeed academically. The grant will contribute to ACP’s after-school enrichment programs, focusing on social and emotional development, creativity, physical fitness, nutrition education, and critical thinking skills.
