PEORIA, AZ — Willmeng Construction broke ground on a self-storage facility in Peoria, Arizona. Garrett Development Corp. (GDC) is the developer of this new facility, which is located in a county island within the city of Peoria borders. It sits along the east side of Lake Pleasant Parkway, a main arterial road in Peoria.
“We’re very excited to start this project, which is our first in the West Valley, and we see tremendous potential in this prime location in Peoria,” said Tina Kelty, Vice President and Designated Broker for Garrett Development Corp. “This is our 16th storage facility, and with this one we will be right at 2 million square feet of self storage product. We’re also thrilled to partner with Willmeng for the first time on such a great development.”
GDC is a Scottsdale, Arizona-based developer with a wide portfolio of product types, including health care, retail, residential, industrial, and storage. GDC has projects in Arizona and New Mexico, with the Lake Pleasant facility just its latest development.
The 110,136-square-foot facility is being designed by Phoenix, Arizona-based RKAA Architects. It features a clean, modern design that blends into the surrounding community. The facility will feature 1,129 square feet of office space, 53,939 square feet of storage on the first floor, and 55,068 square feet of storage in the basement level. Work is expected to wrap up in June of 2026, with the facility opening by the third quarter of 2026.
