GARDNERVILLE, NV — Carson Valley Health (CVH) and Gilbane Building Company recently gathered along with local leaders to celebrate the topping-out milestone for the hospital addition in Gardnerville, Nevada.

"Marking this milestone with our community and staff that have watched this expansion with us since the groundbreaking in October 2021 is exciting," said Jeff Prater, Carson Valley Health CEO.

Upon completion in 2024, the hospital expansion will provide an additional 44,000 square feet that will expand the emergency department from five to 12 beds, expand the operating rooms to three full-size ORs plus two procedure rooms, and an addition of two acute care inpatient beds and three ICU beds. The new sports medicine program and rehabilitation center opened in spring 2022, which includes an expanded pediatric physical therapy program and new vestibular/neurological rehab program.

Also included as part of the project are expanded cardiology services including a Cardiac Cath Lab, expanded support services for Orthopedics including an upgraded space for MRI, and recently upgraded technology for MRI, X-ray, and lnterventional Radiology. Other services include an an enhanced women's imaging center with 3D digital mammography and Dexa Scan, and space for robotic surgery.

In addition to the expansion, the project also includes a medical office building renovation that provided modifications and upgrades to existing buildings including exterior upgrades, lobby renovations, and tenant improvements.
