FARMINGTON, UT — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) recently opened the new North Station Lane bridge over Interstate 15, replacing the old Shepard Lane bridge that was demolished in early 2025.
The new bridge is one of the first major pieces of a new interchange being built in the area to improve access, safety, and east-west travel through Farmington, Utah.
The overpass has been closed since May, when crews removed the old Shepard Lane bridge to build a wider structure and begin work on the new North Station Lane interchange. Once complete, the interchange will provide Utahns with more ways to get around, including a 10-foot wide shared-use trail, new sidewalks, and a pedestrian bridge.
“People in Farmington have been waiting a long time to get this connection back,” UDOT Region One Communications Manager Mitch Shaw said. “Reopening this bridge gives families, businesses, and neighborhoods a more reliable way to get around.”
The project is on track to wrap up winter 2026.
