PHOENIX, AZ — With growth in the Renewable Energy and Storage sector, McCarthy Building Companies announces several promotions, which will allow the group to continue to expand its presence in growing markets from coast to coast. The group brings technical expertise that provides clients with innovative and value-driven solutions in the renewable energy and storage sectors.

Since 2010, McCarthy’s Renewable Energy and Storage group has completed more than 48 utility-scale clean energy projects in communities across the country, delivering a combined capacity of more than three GW of clean energy production and over 320 MW of energy storage. Nationally, McCarthy provides engineer, procure, construct (EPC) services on utility-scale solar projects for private solar developers and utilities, helping them deliver cost-effective clean energy to the communities they serve.

Mike Corso is promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations. Corso has 27 years of construction experience representing a diverse portfolio of solar and energy related projects across the country. He has been successful at forging effective collaboration among the owner, design team, and subcontractors on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. Corso’s continual focus on operational excellence, commitment to the team’s success, and commitment to instilling a “never give up” culture has been instrumental in the successful growth of McCarthy’s Renewable Energy and Storage business.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional as well as a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Arizona Builder’s Alliance Leadership Development Forum, the Associated General Contractors of America, and leads McCarthy’s relationship with the Solar Foundation.

In his seven years with McCarthy, he has successfully built a team of design and procurement professionals allowing the Renewable Energy and Storage team to grow significantly over the past several years with projects in 15 states representing more than 3,800 MW and 287 MW/687 MWh of energy storage.

Patel earned a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University (ASU), and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ASU.
