LIVONIA, MI — Barton Malow was recognized by several of the industry’s national certifying agencies for its efforts with minority- and women-owned businesses for excellence in supplier diversity.Barton Malow was honored by the Great Lakes Women's Business Council (GL-WBC) at this year’s 22nd Annual Excellence in Supplier Diversity Awards Ceremony in the Advanced category. The award recognizes corporate members of the GL-WBC that have successfully integrated supplier diversity and achieved meaningful results in certified women’s business enterprise spending.

Director of Community Engagement Dannis Mitchell accepted the award at the Suburban Collection Showplace as part of the Great Lakes Women’s Business Conference. The conference brings together more than 1,000 certified women-owned businesses, supplier diversity, and procurement professionals across the Midwest.

Barton Malow has been a corporate member of GL-WBC since 2005, and it has awarded more than $158 million to certified women-owned businesses in the past five years.

Barton Malow was also recognized as the Corporation of the Year: Construction winner at this year’s 2022 Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) Ambassadors Championing Excellence (ACE) Awards Ceremony for actively including certified minority suppliers in procurement opportunities, assisting in the development of minority suppliers, and promoting supplier diversity and business development throughout the industry.

This ceremony was also held at the Suburban Collection Showplace. The annual ACE Awards celebrate the past, present, and future of minority supplier development by honoring trailblazers who facilitate solid buyer-supplier relationships, deliver world-class products and services, and support minority-owned and operated businesses in Michigan.

Barton Malow has been a corporate member of MMSDC since 1989, and it has awarded more than $265 million to minority-owned businesses in the past five years.
