In this dual role, Schnetzer oversees the operations, contracting, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the five-state Northwest Division. He previously served the dual role of interim Salt Lake City Office Leader and Northwest Division Delivery Officer.
“It’s been a true privilege and honor to collaborate closely with HNTB’s talented and passionate Northwest workforce over the years,” Schnetzer said. “In this new leadership role, I look forward to supporting the delivery of our clients’ infrastructure and engineering projects to exceed both their, and our community partners’ expectations while continuing to strengthen HNTB’s regional influence.”
Schnetzer began his HNTB career in 2001 as a Deputy Project Manager. In this role, he oversaw the design of Seattle-Tacoma Airport’s third runway embankment. Since then, he has led projects such as the modification and seismic upgrade of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, the casting basin design for the new SR 520 bridge’s pontoons construction, and structural lead on the I-405/SR167 Corridor Program.
“For the past 20 years, Tom’s extensive operations and project management experience have made him a powerful leader and truly invaluable member of this company,” said Mel Sears, PE, PMP, HNTB Northwest Division President. “In this new dual position, Tom’s innovative ideas, engineering expertise, and project and program management experience will ensure our Northwest Division continues to deliver projects of the highest quality to our clients.”
