VANCOUVER, WA — As the need for critical bridge rehabilitation and construction grows in the U.S., Marcin Kasiak, Ph.D., IWE, PMP, PE, Senior Vice President, joined the national bridges and structures practice at WSP, combining its engineering, advisory, and science-based expertise to shape communities.
Kasiak, based in Vancouver, Washington, leads multi-discipline teams throughout the Western U.S. to ensure structural engineering projects and programs are successfully delivered.
“Innovation that addresses the challenges transportation agencies face with their bridge construction programs, such as rising costs and accelerated timelines, is a top priority, and Marcin exudes engineering talent, vision, and leadership,” said Krishna Sandepudi, Ph.D., PE, SE, Senior Vice President, U.S. National Bridges and Structures Practice Director. “From the Russell Bridge in Boston to the Marion Street Bridge in Seattle, he has combined functionality with form to bring pride to the communities his creations now serve. We are privileged that he is continuing his great work with our clients.”
Prior to joining WSP, Kasiak served as Director of Emerging Technologies and Innovation for a U.S.-based international engineering services firm. His two-decade career includes bridge engineering, bridge design, and project management experience on vehicle and pedestrian bridges — as well as other buildings and structures — with firms based in the U.S. and Poland.
Kasiak is a graduate of the Gdansk University of Technology in Poland with a master’s degree in civil engineering and a doctorate in structural engineering.
