The $21.5 million, 30,000 square foot, three-story expansion and full building renovation project is slated to be complete in late 2023. The project will double the building’s current size. It will feature new spaces that accommodate the university’s engineering design, robotics, chemistry, electrical design, thermal sciences, and biomedical programs.
There is a focus on connecting with the outside environment and enhancing the quad and circulation on the campus. A new main entrance will serve as a central hub to the facility and a collaboration zone for students.
“It will provide much opportunity for partnerships with local companies and it will also allow us to provide more vital talent to the region and state,” Indiana Tech President Karl Einolf said after attributing the project’s importance to Indiana Tech's engineering, computer sciences, and cybersecurity programs.
