With over 600,000 visitors to Franke Park in a given year, this new entrance that compliments the park’s natural resources will provide a safe way for Fort Wayne to welcome more residents and guests. In addition, this park will receive a new state-of-the-art pavilion with a capacity of 400 people and additional parking. Landscape renewal, reforestation, stream bank restoration, and a photovoltaic panel system aim to enhance the natural ecosystem of the park. This transformational project will eventually bring new recreational opportunities, a new bridge over Spy Run Creek, a paved multi-use trail with connections to surrounding neighborhoods, and improvements to both mountain biking and walking trails.
Design Collaborative looks forward to this transformational project coming to life and a continued partnership with all project vendors including: Michael Kinder and Sons, Anderson + Bohlander, Engineering Resources, Fort Wayne Park Foundation, Earth Source, the City of Fort Wayne, and Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation.
