The True Inspiration Awards program was created in 2015 to honor the legacy of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy. Through these annual grants, Chick-Fil-A celebrates and supports nonprofit organizations who are making a positive difference in their communities through their work in the areas of education, hunger, and homelessness. In addition to serving in these three areas, this year’s winning organizations are either Black-led or are impacting communities of color.
Wheeler Mission is thrilled beyond words to receive news of this generous gift. They received indications that they could receive a donation up to $150,000 but had no idea the extent of the grant until it was presented. Wheeler Mission thanks Rick Johnson, the owner of the Greenwood Chick-fil-a franchises, who helped push this project up the ladder. This was Chick-Fil-A's second highest award given out in the country this year.
