Arcadis took home the highest honor of Indy Chamber’s 44th Annual Monumental Awards, winning the Monumental Award for their work on the Citizens Reservoir project. This year’s ceremony took place at the historic Tibbs Drive-In Theater on the west side of Indianapolis.

Indy Chamber received a landmark number of entries for this year’s awards showcasing excellence in the built environment.

"We celebrate the built environment to honor all that goes into developing a world-class quality of place in the Indianapolis Region,” said Sarah Iglehart, Vice President of Regional Economic Development at Indy Chamber. “With quality of place driving so much of the site selection and talent attraction decision-making today, this work has never been more critical. Indy is a community that deliberately prioritizes design, forward-thinking, and innovation in all regional planning and development, and the Monumental Awards serve to recognize individuals going above and beyond in their field."

The Monumental Awards recognize the most significant achievements by individuals and businesses that contribute to excellence in architecture, engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, construction, real estate development, neighborhood revitalization, innovative reuse, and public art throughout the Indianapolis region.

“Our regional economy, like all others, has seen significant impacts due to COVID-19,” Iglehart said. “However, our communities and region have been able to pivot and double down on core competencies and have seen growth in life sciences and manufacturing sectors."

The winner of the Monumental Award was selected by an impartial jury of community and professional leaders from the Indianapolis region. All awards were deliberated by sanctioning organizations selected from the specific area of discipline for each category.
