McCombe Joins HNTB Corporation as Senior Project Manager – Transit and Rail
McCombe has nearly 35 years of industry experience and has successfully implemented initiatives for major transit systems, including bus, light rail, streetcar and commuter rail systems. She has led safety and security specialty services for several projects, including SunRail commuter rail in Florida.
“Pam brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the transit and rail market that will help our clients advance their technically complex projects and solve mobility challenges,” said Joe Walshe, PE, HNTB Project Director and Vice President.
Prior to joining HNTB, McCombe served as Technical Manager for another consulting firm. Earlier in her career, she directed safety departments at several transit agencies, including the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, St. Louis Transit Authority and Toronto Transit Commission.
McCombe is a Senior Instructor for the U.S. Department of Transportation Safety Institute, a member of the American Public Transportation Association’s Peer Review Teams and Operations Committee, and a member of the Transit Cooperative Research Program Committee. She also is one of the authors of the Federal Transit Administration’s Handbook for Safety and Security Certification.
McCombe earned a Masters of Transportation Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Manitoba.
