This 580,000-square-foot project will include concessions and other commercial programs, common building spaces, restrooms and circulation corridors, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Screening Checkpoint, TSA Checked Baggage Inspection System and Checked Baggage Reconciliation Area, and U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection security facilities. In addition, it will incorporate the newest technologies for bag screening, gate check-in, and baggage processing. Furthermore, an automated shuttle will connect Airside D to the Main Terminal.
Design for the Airside D Program recently began, and construction is expected to start in 2024.
TPA has now completed several projects in the largest construction program in its history with the Main Terminal renovation, 66 shops and restaurants, a 1.4-mile automated people mover extending to a multi-level rental car facility, new Blue Express Curbsides, a nine-story office complex, and numerous new public art installations.
