ATLANTA, GA — The Walsh Group, one of the largest construction service providers in the United States, announces the promotion of Duane Petersen to President of the company’s national Water Division. Peterson will be based out of the Atlanta, Georgia, office.

As President, Petersen will provide executive leadership over The Walsh Group’s national water and wastewater construction operations, which rank among the largest in the United States. Petersen will provide executive direction on new business initiatives, customer outreach, staffing, training, project management systems, and field operations.

Petersen takes over the Water Division President responsibilities from his predecessor Roy Epps, who served as President from 2020 to 2023 and grew the Water Division into a $1 billion annual program. Epps will remain with The Walsh Group to serve in a senior advisory role and will be the executive sponsor of the firm’s Walsh Group Leadership Initiative program.

Petersen has more than 28 years of experience and 24 years with The Walsh Group, previously serving as Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Southeast Water Operations, respectively. Petersen will lead the development, growth, and success of The Walsh Group’s Water Division, while directing management teams, developing and fostering relationships with customers, and upholding the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and ethics. Petersen will continue to enhance The Walsh Group’s brand, customer service, project delivery methods, and expand its portfolio of work across some of the largest treatment plant and pump station projects in the United States and Canada.

In addition to his promotion to President, Petersen has been named to The Walsh Group Executive Committee, where senior executives and the Walsh family drive strategy, monitor performance, and set policy across the entire company.
