As President, Alvarez will lead the South Texas Chapter in its mission to promote the development and use of underground technologies in the construction industry. The association provides a platform for professionals in the field to share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and encourage the advancement of underground construction technology.
Alvarez has been an active member of the association for several years and has served in various leadership roles within the organization, including her previous role as Vice President.
"I am honored to have been named the President of the South Texas Chapter of UCTA," Alvarez said. "I look forward to working with our members to promote the development and use of underground technologies, and to advocate for the continued growth and success of our industry.
Alvarez, who has a master’s degree in civil engineering from Louisiana State University, is an industry expert whose focus is on sustainable and resilient water solutions, water and sewer pipelines, and utility coordination. A licensed Professional Engineer, Alvarez is responsible for the project management of multiple civil infrastructure projects for the San Antonio Water System, San Antonio River Authority, City of San Antonio, and Bexar County.
