METRO Celebrates the Installation of Digital Signs
"This transit center is a key asset in the community, and we're excited to host the unveiling of METRO's new digital signage network," said Homer Clark, Board Chair of the 5 Corners Improvement District. "We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with METRO regarding multimodal transit in our community."
METRO's Board of Directors approved the purchase in 2019. The signs provide riders with real-time bus information, public service announcements, and detour, stop closure, and special event alerts.
"It's a good thing when you can find ideas. You can find resources to implement those ideas and find opportunities for innovation," said METRO Board Chair Sanjay Ramabhadran. "It is a testament to our commitment to enhance the customer experience."
To date, METRO has installed 130 signs at one-third of its transit centers, along the METRORapid Silver Line and on the 54 Scott and 56 Airline METRONext BOOST pilot projects.
Digital signs at the transit centers feature 43-inch high definition LCD monitors with a customizable, durable screen.
