“VLK is honored to participate in the opening of Zavala Elementary School,” said Monika Castillo, Principal at VLK Architects. “We appreciate the opportunity to be working with Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD and its community to deliver a facility that is focused on student education and experience for both students and staff. This is a tremendous milestone for the district and its community.”
The 133,000-square-foot facility features a two-story library at the heart of the campus including teaching spaces and reading nooks on each level. The school will also include a music room with direct access to a performance stage and STEM (Science, Technology, English, Math) labs with access to an outdoor patio and science balcony.
“Our journey towards excellence continues with the opening of Zavala Elementary,” said Brent Jaco, Superintendent of PBTISD. “Thank you, Pecos, Texas, for your unwavering support, and here’s to Zavala Elementary and the bright future it holds for our students."
