“VLK is honored to participate in the opening of Zavala Elementary School,” said Monika Castillo, Principal at VLK Architects. “We appreciate the opportunity to be working with Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD and its community to deliver a facility that is focused on student education and experience for both students and staff. This is a tremendous milestone for the district and its community.”
The 133,000-square-foot facility features a two-story library at the heart of the campus including teaching spaces and reading nooks on each level. The school will also include a music room with direct access to a performance stage and STEM (Science, Technology, English, Math) labs with access to an outdoor patio and science balcony.
