Williamson County Breaks Ground on Ronald Reagan Boulevard Intersection Safety Improvement Projects
The improvements at Silver Spur Boulevard include adding a deceleration lane and left turn lane on Ronald Reagan Boulevard, an acceleration lane on Ronald Reagan Boulevard for those turning left from Silver Spur Boulevard, overhead solar traffic beacons, and intersection lighting to alert drivers.
The improvements at Sun City Boulevard include constructing an acceleration lane for those turning left from Sun City Boulevard and overhead solar traffic beacons to alert drivers.
“I am excited for these improvement projects to get underway,” said Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey. “Improvements at these intersections are the result of conversations I have had with the residents of Sun City, and I am thankful we are able to make this section of Ronald Reagan Boulevard safer and easier to travel."
The safety improvements will cost approximately $875,350 and will be funded through the voter-approved 2019 Road Bonds. The design engineer was WSB, and the contractor is QA Construction. The project is estimated to take approximately five months. The City of Georgetown will be responsible for maintaining the intersections once construction is completed.
