CEC Hires Marocco as Corporate Director of Operations
At CEC, Marocco will oversee day-to-day operations for all build projects, while still managing relationships with local, state, and federal organizations. He will actively manage workload and the development of CEC personnel.
“It is a real honor and privilege to join the CEC family,” Marocco said. “I’m a native Texan, and my first real job was in the construction industry, so this feels like a warm welcome home.”
Marocco comes to CEC from many years of service with the U.S. government. Most recently, at the U.S. Agency for International Development he led a new bureau of more than 400 staff, 1,700 field-based programs, and a $300-million budget across five offices. Based in Washington, D.C., he also served as a Senior Leader at the Department of State and Department of Defense. He has also worked for the State of Texas, where he oversaw logistics for the response to Hurricane Harvey.
Marocco enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1993, eventually becoming a Platoon Sergeant for the 3rd Force Recon company. Since 2003, he worked as a Contractor for the U.S. Government and in the private sector for various companies in global security. With Patriot Group International, he led expeditionary logistics and mission support operations.
Marocco earned his undergraduate degree at Florida State University in international affairs. He holds a postgraduate certificate in international security from Stanford, and a master’s degree in international human rights law from Oxford.
“Innovation and efficiency are key qualities we seek in our leaders,” said Ray Waddell, Chief Executive Officer. “Pete has exemplified those in his past positions. We are excited to see him continue that path and support our continued success.”
