RDO Equipment Co. in Texas Awarded Topcon Distribution Contract
This latest announcement marks the transition of RDO from Topcon partner dealer to direct dealer in Texas. As a direct dealer, RDO will deepen its relationship with Topcon and offer customers more options for solutions that help to increase efficiencies and support their construction goals. The suite of Topcon products offered by RDO includes solutions for all construction projects.
With this announcement, RDO Integrated Controls, the company’s positioning division, will now also support the locations in Texas. This change will enable the team to leverage the full resources of the RDO technology team and its support network across all eight states where RDO Equipment Co. supports construction customers. This team of over 100 technology experts was founded in 2009 and is one of the leading construction technology companies in North America.
Beyond the product offerings, this new partnership will bring about the establishment of dedicated Topcon service centers at RDO stores in Texas, with the first being completed at the Fort Worth facility. With this expansion, construction professionals in Texas will have a one-stop solution for product expertise and service for all their technology needs, which are rapidly growing.
“Over the past five years, we have seen tremendous growth in demand for machine control and positioning technologies because more owners are starting to realize that they make sense for construction projects of all sizes,” said Cory Kosse, Vice President of RDO’s Texas operations. “Many of our customers are seeing the significant benefits of these technologies — and not just for their bigger machines such as dozers, excavators, and graders, but also smaller equipment such as skid steers.”
According to research conducted in 2020 by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, owners who have implemented machine control have reported benefits such as grading accuracy, improved efficiency, and improved operator performance. Even as adoption rates of machine control have dramatically increased, the same research shows that there are still barriers to adoption. When equipment owners were asked about challenges facing them in terms of technology, they cited cost, limited staff resources, and lack of knowledge as their highest concerns.
For customers facing those challenges, RDO has established a team of technology experts that provide onsite training and remote troubleshooting support. In addition to in-person service, customers are able to use RDO Integrated Controls Solutions Centers for remote, centralized support.
Texas joins the list of states where RDO is a Topcon dealer, including Montana, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arizona, and California. The addition also means every RDO construction store in the U.S. is now a technology solution provider.
