CONNERSVILLE, IN — Skanska, Shook Construction, and Reid Health celebrated the topping out ceremony for the $100 million Reid Health campus in Connersville, Indiana. This milestone marks the placement of the final beam on the two-story, 106,715-square-foot facility, bringing the project one step closer to completion.
The new campus represents an investment in health care for Fayette County. Once complete, the facility will include a modern emergency department, radiology and lab services, and a wide range of primary and specialty care options, including cardiology, OB/GYN, and oncology. With over 400 parking spaces and the county’s first helipad in 30 years, the campus will significantly enhance health care accessibility and economic growth in the region.
“The Connersville and Fayette County communities have significant health needs, and this new facility will help us to meet those needs for many years to come,” said Craig Kinyon, Reid Health President and CEO. “We’re thrilled to have Skanska and Shook Construction as our partners on a project of such importance to Reid and to those we serve.”
The new campus replaces Reid Health’s outdated facility on Virginia Avenue, which was built over a century ago. With its completion anticipated in 2026, the project will reinforce Reid Health’s promise to provide quality health care to Fayette County residents.
“This project is a testament to the strength of collaboration,” said Chris Hopper, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Skanska. “Together with Shook Construction and Reid Health, we are building a facility that will serve the Connersville community for generations.”

The topping out ceremony is a long-standing tradition in construction, symbolizing progress and achievement in reaching the highest point of the structure. Attendees included representatives from Reid Health, local officials, board members, and the teams from Skanska and Shook Construction.
"It's hard to believe it's been a little more than two years since we last gathered to mark the formal beginning of this project," Kinyon said. "Back then, all that was here were the crumbling remains of a parking lot. But in the time since, we've made remarkable progress. Along the way, we've been privileged to work with a wonderful team of partners."
