NEWARK, NJ — Gilbane Building announces that John E. Anderson III has been promoted to Business Leader of the firm’s New Jersey Office in Newark, New Jersey. In his new role, Anderson will focus on expanding the company’s market portfolio and service offerings, fostering team development and growth, and delivering facilities for clients and communities in the New Jersey area.
Anderson spent the last 10 years serving in Gilbane’s New York City office and has an extensive background in health care, commercial, residential, and life sciences construction. His project experience includes the 50 Hudson Yards project and the NYCEDC NYC Health + Hospitals Metropolitan Hospital Resiliency Project.

A sixth-generation member of the Gilbane family, Anderson brings more than 17 years of experience in the construction industry, having held a range of different roles on and off site for Gilbane. In addition to his project work, Anderson has contributed to the firm’s culture and safety by serving on the Gilbane NYC Safety Task Force and leading the Project Manager Peer Group. He is a former ACE Mentor with the ACE Mentor Program and has remained actively involved in community and charitable initiatives, particularly through the Metropolitan Hospital Center project.
