Scerbo returns to HNTB in this senior role after eight years in strategic leadership roles with another consulting firm. Most recently, he spearheaded growth across business lines in New York City and built relationships with key city stakeholders, including the Mayor’s Office, local elected officials, and city agency leadership. Prior to that, he was responsible for the strategic direction and performance of the architecture and urban design, program management, transportation, and water businesses for the New York Metropolitan Area at that same firm.
“I am thrilled that Tom has returned to HNTB,” said Phil Brake, PE, HNTB Northeast Division President. “Tom’s leadership and experience in delivering effective infrastructure solutions for clients is driven by his dedication to achieving a better built environment that uplifts the communities in which we live and work. This dedication is especially invaluable now as we prepare for historic federal infrastructure investment across the country, and as cities and states begin to reinvent themselves post pandemic.”
Scerbo brings with him a 23-year track record of successfully leading integrated multi-disciplinary teams in the architecture, engineering, and construction management industry. He has held numerous leadership positions and has extensive experience with organizational transformation and growth strategy development across multiple markets and disciplines.
During his earlier tenure with HNTB from 2001 to 2014, Scerbo served in several progressively more senior roles starting as a Designer, then Senior Designer for aviation terminals and transit facilities, advancing to Transportation Architecture Market Sector Leader, then Eastern U.S. District Leader for HNTB’s architecture group, followed by New York Office Sales Manager, and eventually Architecture Practice Leader for the Northeast Division.
