ARLINGTON, VA — HNTB Corporation names Michelle Dippel President of the firm’s Mid-Atlantic Division. As Division President, Dippel oversees complex infrastructure programs, business operations, and more than 600 HNTB professionals from Pennsylvania to South Carolina who deliver them. She is based in HNTB’s Arlington, Virginia, office.

Dippel, who is relocating to Arlington from Austin, Texas, takes the division reins as an accomplished transportation and environmental projects leader with more than 25 years of experience in the industry.

She most recently served HNTB as Senior Vice President and Office Leader for HNTB’s South and Central Texas region, which includes offices in Austin, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Round Rock, and San Antonio. Dippel supervised engineering, planning, and project management services for public and private owners, including Texas Department of Transportation, Capitol Metro Transportation Authority, and roadway bond programs for Williamson County and other central Texas counties. She also led community engagement, inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives and leadership development programs.

“Michelle leads with a focused approach on people and client relationships that result in positive, collaborative work environments, business growth, and delivery of innovative solutions that move client programs forward,” said Mike Sweeney, President of HNTB’s East Region. “We’re grateful to have her experience, expertise, and leadership in the Mid-Atlantic as HNTB supports major transit, tolling, bridge, highway, and aviation projects across the region.”

Some of the key HNTB projects in the Mid-Atlantic include the Southeast Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s King of Prussia Rail Extension, District Department of Transportation’s Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, Virginia Department of Transportation’s I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension Design-Build project, West Virginia Department of Highways’ I-79 Bridges Rehabilitation and Replacement Program, North Carolina Turnpike Authority’s Complete 540, and GoRaleigh’s Bus Rapid Transit system.
