With 25 years of infrastructure strategic, commercial, and financial consulting experience, Krauss has led complex, interdisciplinary groups to deliver $12 billion in major transportation infrastructure programs, $2.5 billion in successful infrastructure acquisitions, $5 billion in potential infrastructure investment assessments, and multiple major infrastructure innovation initiatives.
Krauss has served as advisor to executives internal to the corporate environment as well as Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Engineers, agency boards, and major institutional investors. He has developed strategic assessments, efficiency/improvement plans, capital/financial plans, and management tools for complex infrastructure and enterprise-wide programs that align diverse groups relative to technical, financial, operational, and cultural needs.
Before joining HNTB, Krauss served another consulting firm as Senior Vice President and Chief Projects Officer for its Advisory Services practice. He led corporate and practice strategic initiatives involving multiple business units in the development and delivery of innovative cross-disciplinary solutions.
In the delivery of major capital programs, Krauss served as Advisory Team Director responsible for supporting the delivery of a $5-billion capital program for Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. He also served as Financial Manager on major highway and toll infrastructure projects including the $2.4-billion Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project and the $2.4-billion Intercounty Connector Project.

Additionally, he was Project Manager responsible for the comprehensive and accelerated evaluation of a portfolio of target port assets in the U.S. and Canada for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan acquisition of four port facilities.
Krauss holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. He also holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Bucknell University. He is a registered Professional Engineer and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
