The Construction Code Commission of Michigan was created in 1972 to improve the quality of housing for Michigan residents while assisting the housing industry. Of the 17 commission members, 12 are appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. Appeals are heard by the Commission as a whole or as a panel of members selected by the Commission's Chairperson.
"To be selected is both an honor and a call to service for the discipline and the state," Drouillard said. "I have always believed that as a practitioner of architecture, it's my professional and personal responsibility to create positive impact for my community and clients with my work. I have served on several boards with the local American Institute of Architects chapter, and I see this appointment as an extension of that — utilizing the knowledge gained through my training and career to do good for others."
