OKEMOS, MI — Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) announces the promotion of Samir Matta, PE, Vice President, to Municipal Business Group Director. With more than three decades of experience in the civil engineering industry as a Practice Leader, Project Manager, and Design Engineer, Matta has led various municipal infrastructure projects.

During his career, Matta has managed public works projects for municipal, county, and federal agencies such as the cities of San Antonio, Lansing, and Battle Creek; the San Antonio Water System; and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, among others.

"Outstanding abilities, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence are only three of the characteristics that make Samir so deserving of this promotion," said Steve Gilbreath, Vice President, Chief Operations Officer at LAN. For Matta, who joined LAN in 2013, this promotion validates the collective efforts of his team.
