HOUSTON, TX — Jason Caldwell joins WSP, an engineering, environment, and professional services consultancy, as National Water Resources Market Lead. Caldwell brings to the role an understanding of organizational development and sales in the water business. He is based in Houston, Texas.

“Jason is a highly accomplished engineer and scientist who, for more than 20 years, has provided successful solutions for clients across multiple sectors, including federal, state, and local government, academia, and the private sector,” said Tyler Jones, Senior Vice President, National Water Business Line Executive at WSP. “It’s my pleasure to work with Jason again, and I’m looking forward to revisiting our water resources growth strategy with him to expand WSP’s services across the U.S.”

Prior to rejoining WSP, Caldwell worked as a Research Civil Engineer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's Engineer Research and Development Center. There he served on the Committee for Hydrologic Engineering and participated in several multi-agency projects to support resilient infrastructure from concept to construction, including Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations, the Future of Flood Risk Data, and coordination with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Water Prediction.

His experience includes serving as Water Management Lead and Senior Hydraulic Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was involved with several post-Hurricane Harvey projects in Southeast Texas including the Buffalo Bayou and Tributaries flood resiliency study and the Sabine-to-Galveston coastal storm risk analysis. For nearly 10 years, he was Principal Engineer and Owner/Operator of a meteorological and hydrological consulting firm.

Caldwell is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences, weather forecasting; North Carolina State University with a master’s degree in atmospheric sciences, numerical weather prediction; and the University of Colorado at Boulder with a doctorate in civil engineering, reservoir operations optimization.
