AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) recently approved financial assistance totaling more than $136 million for water, wastewater, and flood mitigation projects.
- $398,000 to the Grassland Water Supply Corporation (Lynn County) for water system improvements
- $3.26 million to the Welch Water Supply Corporation (Dawson County) for water system improvements
- $2.57 million to the City of Dublin (Erath County) for water system improvements
- $23.86 million to the City of Mercedes (Hidalgo County) for wastewater system improvements
- $862,400 to the Victoria County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Victoria County) for water system improvements
- $11.09 million to the City of Harlingen (Cameron County) for wastewater system improvements
- $4.73 million to the City of Cleburne (Johnson County) for water system improvements
- $21 million to the East Aldine Management District (Harris County) for wastewater system improvements
- $70 million to the City of Irving (Dallas County) for a flood mitigation project
- $581,633 to the City of Poteet (Atascosa County) for water system improvements
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
