Sundt Awards $25,000 to Central Texas Nonprofits, $18,000 to El Paso Area Nonprofits

AUSTIN, TX — The Sundt Foundation awarded $25,000 to five local charitable organizations in Central Texas and $18,000 to three El Paso nonprofit organizations.

“These grants were made possible through the generosity of our employee-owners,” said Chad Yount, Central Texas Regional Board Member. “We’re thrilled to be able to support a diverse array of causes this quarter.”

“Our employee-owners are passionate about improving the quality of life for our community members in need,” said Joseph Riccillo, Sundt Foundation Board Member for the El Paso area. “The organizations [in the El Paso area] serve disadvantaged adults and children, providing basic needs and educational opportunities.”

The following organizations were awarded grants in the Central Texas area:

  • Colin’s Hope was awarded $4,000 to support its mission to provide water safety awareness, education, and resources to prevent children from drowning. The organization provides education, outreach, and water safety lessons through caregiver trainings, webinars, and more.
  • The Elf Louise Christmas Project, whose mission is to bring the joy of Christmas to children in need, was awarded $8,000. This grant money will go toward purchasing and facilitating the delivery of Christmas gifts for kids in Bexar County.
  • The Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio was awarded $4,000 to support its programs that help kids achieve their full potential in a safe, positive, and engaging environment that promotes education, health, and character development.
  • Guide Dogs of Texas received $3,000 to fund its mission to increase mobility, freedom, and independence for Texans who experience blindness or low vision by providing guide dogs.
  • Austin Civic Orchestra was awarded $6,000 to continue providing musical experiences to the Austin community and surrounding areas.

The nonprofit assists thousands of people every day through its food pantry, clothes closet, mental health research, and FreshStart program.
  • The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Foundation received $5,000 to support its mission in creating access to higher education for adult learners. The EPCC Foundation provides scholarship support and student emergency funding to help adult students achieve credentials to enter the workforce.
  • Operation Homefront’s programs are designed to provide crucial assistance during specific times of the year and at significant points for military families. The organization’s aim is to help military and veteran families surmount short-term challenges and prevent long-term difficulties. Operation Homefront received $5,000 to support its efforts.

The Sundt Foundation awards grants to nonprofits on a quarterly basis. The recipients are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
