In his new role, Semora will oversee the day to day functions of the Fort Bend Area Office and the Maintenance Office including the Waller Maintenance Office. He comes to the Houston District from the Austin District via the Bastrop Area Office.
Semora began his career with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the summer of 2007 as a summer hire with the Yoakum District. He followed with five consecutive summers between the Yoakum and Austin District working in both maintenance and construction inspection. Semora's full time employment with TxDOT began in June 2012 when he joined the Bastrop Area Office as an Engineering Assistant.
As an Engineering Assistant, Semora took part in many different complex design projects in the rural and urban areas around Bastrop. Most notably, he led design efforts for the US 290 Divided Highway Projects from Elgin, Texas, to Giddings, Texas. During his construction rotation, Semora managed several SH 71 grade separations as a part of the initiative to remove all signals from Austin to Houston. In May 2016, Semora obtained his Professional Engineering License and took on all of the Bastrop Area Office's Construction Engineer activities.
In November 2016, Semora was appointed as the Assistant Area Engineer for the Bastrop Area Office. As the Assistant Area Engineer, Semora managed all aspects of construction contract execution including some high profile projects, namely, three simultaneous projects to divide US 290 from McDade, Texas, to Giddings, Texas, as well as the SH 71 Expansion Project over the Colorado River in Bastrop. A large portion of Semora's career has been dedicated to SH 71 corridor improvements as he also oversaw schematic development for installation of grade separations at the remaining three signalized intersections on SH 71 from Bastrop to Austin.
William graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio earning a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in May of 2012.
