TDIndustries’ Hollowell Receives TEXO Superintendent of the Year Award
Hollowell, a 42-year Partner, was also part of a group to receive a Distinguished Building Award for the Frost Tower project. His dedication to his work there, as well as his leadership, earned him the individual award.
Hollowell started as a Sheet-Metal Helper more than four decades ago. Now a Senior Superintendent in Fort Worth, Texas, he has four national Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Eagle awards to his name.
During his 42 years with TD, Hollowell has helped develop many future leaders through mentoring opportunities. In addition to his work at Frost Tower, Hollowell has made contributions to many TD projects such as Momentum Place, Acme Brick Headquarters, The Kimbell Art Museum and several buildings on TCU’s campus, among other jobs.
Frost Tower is Fort Worth’s first skyscraper in 20 years. The city’s seventh tallest building, it is 25 stories tall, and does not skimp on amenities. It is the first Class-AA-plus office tower in 10 years, and it features 250,000 square feet of office space, an open sky lobby, full service high-tech meeting facilities and other fixtures.
The site comprised two city blocks with no lay-down area, where a tight schedule made planning challenging. Hollowell met this challenge through long days, Lean planning and servant leadership. He mentored Partners, identified solutions for potential work slowdowns, coordinated work packages, led solution efforts, grew relationships with customers and even assisted the owner with an additional project.
