“Congratulations to Burns & McDonnell for the grand opening of their new Charlotte office and their continued investment in North Carolina,” said U.S. Senator Thom Tillis. “I look forward to seeing Burns & McDonnell continue to support our state's energy infrastructure and move our economy forward.”
The Charlotte office of Burns & McDonnell is led by Paul Pansing, who has almost 15 years of experience in engineering, construction, and project management and also serves as the Operations manager of the electric and gas transmission and distribution group. The team currently focuses primarily on utility and power generation-related work for clients including Duke Energy, Dominion Energy, and Santee Cooper.
In 2017, Burns & McDonnell planted regional roots in Charlotte with three employee-owners. Now the office has relocated to 12,000 square feet, with plans for more than 80 employee-owners in Charlotte by the end of 2025.
“The rapid growth is fueled by heavy regional investment by utilities and developers in electric and gas infrastructure work across the Southeast, as well as the strong and growing talent pool in the city of Charlotte,” Pansing said. “This team growth is expected to continue but also expand into additional markets, including advanced manufacturing, data centers, and water infrastructure.”
