BIRMINGHAM, AL — Brasfield & Gorrie has named John Strid President of its newly defined Central Region, aligning leadership with growth across Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The regional realignment strengthens local decision-making, creates clearer points of connection for clients, and positions the company to deliver technically demanding work more efficiently.
A 21-year veteran of the company, Strid has lived and managed projects all over the U.S. He previously served as a Regional President overseeing one of Brasfield & Gorrie’s operating units. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of the construction business, from project development through preconstruction and delivery. His business unit specialized in some of the company’s most complex work, including industrial, aerospace, infrastructure, utilities, and energy market sectors. With extensive experience in project execution and self-perform operations, Strid now expands his leadership across a broader geographic footprint, adding oversight of additional market sectors while guiding growth throughout the Central Region.
“John is one of those leaders who makes everyone around him better,” Brasfield & Gorrie CEO Rob Blalock said. “He’s bold, driven, and a team player. And he’s got a deep understanding of the kind of work that defines us — technical, complex, and meaningful. With John’s leadership, I’m confident we’ll keep raising the bar across the Central Region.”
As Central Region President, Strid oversees operations, business processes, talent development, and strategic growth efforts across his region. Based in the company’s hometown and headquarters of Birmingham, Alabama, the Central Region includes multiple offices across three states and will execute work throughout a majority of the continental U.S. Strid will collaborate closely with teams across the entire company to support clients in a variety of market sectors including health care, commercial, mission critical, heavy civil, industrial, and government.
