AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved financial assistance totaling over $239 million for water, wastewater, and flood mitigation projects. The following approximate funds will be awarded:
- $361,720 to the Cameron County Drainage District No. 5 (Cameron County) for a flood mitigation strategy project
- $98,000 to the City of Taylor Lake Village (Harris County) for flood management evaluation
- $49 million to the City of Abilene (Taylor County) for water system improvements
- $58.78 million to the City of Mineral Wells (Palo Pinto County) for water system improvements
- $11.86 million to the Upper Leon River Municipal Water District (Comanche County) for water system improvements
- $6.95 million to the South Freestone County Water Supply Corporation (Freestone County) for water system improvements
- $2.26 million to the Paxton Water Supply Corporation (Shelby County) for water system improvements
- $16.08 million to the City of Cleveland (Liberty County) for wastewater system improvements
- $2.88 million to the City of Duncanville (Dallas County) for lead service line inventory
- $90 million to the City of Fort Worth (Tarrant, Denton, Parker, and Wise counties) for a flood mitigation project
- $1.18 million to the Study Butte Water Supply Corporation (Brewster County) for water system improvements
