The new 106,622-square-foot headquarters sits on 6.2 acres of the new 660-acre PGA Frisco campus, which will also include two new championship golf courses, a 500-room Omni PGA Frisco Resort, and a golf entertainment district. Predominantly glass and limestone, the four-story headquarters building will initially house approximately 150 corporate employees with three floors of office space, a top-floor conference room, and an outdoor terrace lounge space overlooking the driving range and golf course.
The ground floor will serve staff, PGA members, and guests as a destination for the future of golf, including a video studio and education center. The lobby design will feature a wood wall sculpted to mimic the contours of a golf course, terrazzo flooring, and an open social stair with side areas for seating. Gardens filled with native plants will welcome visitors to the building.
This public-private partnership teams the PGA of America with Omni PGA Frisco Resort, LLC; the City of Frisco, as well as its Economic and Community Development Corporations; and the Frisco Independent School District. With AP as the project’s general contractor, Cushman & Wakefield is managing the construction team on behalf of the PGA of America, and Page is the team’s architect.
“Reaching the halfway mark in the construction of any project is cause for celebration, but this milestone with the PGA of America in Frisco is especially poignant,” said Granger Hassmann, Vice President of Preconstruction and Estimating for AP. “The autographed beam hoisted to the top of the structure really represents the close collaboration and successful partnership between the PGA of America, Cushman & Wakefield, Page, the City of Frisco, and AP during a very challenging year. This project is a prominent addition to the relocation of corporate headquarters to North Texas, and AP is honored to be a part of it.”
“This important milestone in the development of our new headquarters is an exciting time for the PGA of America,” said PGA President Jim Richerson. “We are proud to be working with our partners to build a landmark destination. Our headquarters will be the heartbeat of our association and is an important component of an innovative and beautiful campus that will define PGA Frisco and serve as a positive addition to the community.”
Projected to open in the first quarter of 2022, the new PGA Headquarters will incorporate golf education space and indoor training facilities, such as a chipping area, putting green, driving range simulators, and three bays where exterior wall panels open out for hitting to the actual driving range. In addition to the video studio, a trophy gallery will also be a key feature of the new building.
“Cushman & Wakefield is honored to manage construction on this one-of-a-kind project on behalf of PGA,” said Brad Blankenship, Senior Managing Director of Project and Development Services for Cushman & Wakefield. “Once complete, employees, professionals, and guests alike will be able to experience unforgettable and inspiring views of the Panther Creek development’s rolling terrain, water features, and majestic oaks.”
“Being a part of this exciting project has been an honor for the Page team,” said Page Principal James Tanner. “Reaching this phase of the project is especially important after an unprecedented year of challenges that required us to shift how we work and communicate. We are proud of this milestone and all that has been achieved along the way with this fantastic group of partners.”
