DALLAS, TX — COVID-19 put a stop to events at City Electric Supply (CES) branches across the country, but counter days recently made a comeback in Texas. CES Aledo, CES Hutto, and CES Sherman are now officially open for business. The CES Aledo grand opening in Fort Worth marked the company’s first event since the pandemic. It is one of now 39 City Electric Supply branches in Texas.

“We had a great turnout. I was extremely excited to meet people in the area, get to know the new customers that we haven’t dealt with in the past,” said District Manager Phillip McKinney. “The support we received from our vendors and customers who came out and made the trip from Dallas and other areas to support us meant a lot. We have built a team that people will want to do business with. We are very excited to expand into West Fort Worth. At CES, we truly believe in putting the customers’ needs first and cannot wait to make new, long-lasting relationships with local customers.”

The celebration included vendor giveaways, product demos, live music, and food from On Deck BBQ. One winner left with the grand prize, a Traeger Pro 575 WiFi Pellet Grill and Smoker. Other raffle prizes included CES Bucket O’Tools, an F4P Bluetooth Job Site Speaker, and a $100 Bass Pro Shop gift card.

“I’m blessed to have an amazing team and work for an amazing company,” Branch Manager Chuck Hubbard said. “I’ve been with City Electric Supply since November 2020. I’ve been in the industry since 1994 and have never been a part of a company that’s such a wonderful family like CES. They don’t just preach that they’re a family, they act like it.”

The grand opening of CES Hutto in Pflugerville gave customers, employees, and vendors the opportunity to connect. In addition to meeting new customers, vendors were also able to introduce their new lines, answer questions, and provide giveaways at the new branch. 2M Lighting Inc., Klein Tools, Milwaukee, TOPAZ, and Generac were some of the vendors that helped the branch celebrate.

"I’m pleased to finally introduce our new CES location, CES Hutto,” said District Manager Mehs Ess. "It has some of the most experienced staff in the industry.”

“I am excited about our new City Electric Supply Hutto store,” said CES Hutto Branch Manager Buzz Carruth. “We look forward to creating fantastic partnerships with electrical contractors, builders, and facility managers of the Hutto, Round Rock, and greater Williamson County area.”

CES Sherman, one of 12 branches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, also recently had a grand opening. The event included product demos, promotions, food, and raffle prizes for CES Buckets O’ Tools, F4P Bluetooth Job Site Speakers, and a $100 Bass Pro Shop Gift Card. There were also vendor giveaways and lunch from Not Just Q BBQ. Legend, Acuity Brands, NSi Industries, RYMCO USA, Bell & McCoy, and Power Tech Electrical Sales are some of the vendors that were present.

"I am excited to open a new branch in Sherman for CES,” said Branch Manager Brandon Haaland. “We are in a great location right off Texoma Parkway with easy access and have a great team working here to support our community.”

“We are excited for our continued growth and support in the DFW area and are looking forward to this event,” said VP of Operations Blair Feidler. “CES Sherman is dedicated to customer service, and we are here for you.”

The three new CES branches join the rest of the City Electric Supply team in raising money for a national organization, Make-A-Wish. The company’s recent partnership with Make-A-Wish was made possible by its social impact program, CES Cares. CES is a partner of Make-A-Wish and supports their goal of granting wishes to children with critical illnesses, even through COVID-19.

“We have been pursuing new and creative ways to bring the power of a wish to kids because hope can’t wait. By holding fundraising events or asking for donations, you can become a champion for a child who is waiting for their wish to come true,” said LuAnn Bott, Vice President of Revenue and Partnership Services for Make-A-Wish America.

Since the announcement of the partnership in February, CES branches have helped raise over $8,000.

“For our branches to raise that amount of money in just a few months is incredible,” said CES Cares Social Impact Manager Karen Gray. “This is just the beginning. We will continue to do our part and help provide wishes for kids with critical illnesses.”
