SAN ANTONIO, TX — Shad Shafie, PE joins WGI with over 25 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He has a PE in several states including Florida and Texas, and has lived and worked most of his career in both states. Shafie will be based in the San Antonio office, leading a division that includes Structures, Parking, and Restoration.

For 19 years, Shafie was Vice President and Operations Manager for Architecture and Buildings Engineering at an ENR 500 firm where he was responsible for over 130 employees in seven offices including architects, planners, interior designers, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, sustainable, RCDD, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and structural engineers.

The addition of Shafie to the WGI team allows the company to better leverage the talent within the areas of structural expertise that currently encompasses several departments. This strategic move has been contemplated for months, and WGI is now able to complete an organizational alignment that will better serve clients, cross-train associates, balance work, and improve operations. WGI’s experience in Parking will now better leverage a much larger team of structural designers across a broad geographic platform, enhancing delivery and client services.
