In addition to expanding SAM's geographic footprint, Midland offers a full suite of GIS services including offerings such as GIS hosting that will complement SAM’s existing GIS business and further diversify SAM’s capabilities and client base. The combination of SAM’s geospatial and construction services capabilities with Midland’s GIS expertise will provide expanded opportunities and solutions for clients in multiple markets.
SAM continues to expand its geographic footprint and service offerings through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. This acquisition continues SAM’s aggressive expansion, with this being SAM's fifth acquisition in four years.
“SAM has always pushed to stay at the forefront of advancements in our industry,” said SAM President and CEO, Chris Solomon. “Midland’s record of innovative GIS practices and data hosting expertise make them an ideal new partner to help enhance our competitive advantages for clients, and we are thrilled to have them joining the SAM team.”
Key Midland leadership staff will be joining the SAM team as part of the acquisition, including Director of GIS Operations Matt Sorensen, who focuses on county government clients, and Director of GIS Operations Kirk Larson, who handles municipal government clients.
"We are excited to become part of an industry-leading company like SAM," Sorensen said. "This will enable our team to expand the reach of our considerable experience and capabilities in GIS to broader markets and across the U.S.”
“The combined strengths and capabilities we can now offer is a win-win for both our companies and our clients," Larson said.
