Johnson to Lead HDR's Oil, Gas, & Chemicals Practice
“As the oil, gas, and chemical industries work to address ambitious decarbonization goals, I’m in a unique position to help them achieve compliance by matching their needs with the right people,” Johnson said. “It’s inspiring to work with clients and colleagues on the challenge of executing complex projects that integrate sustainability while enabling communities to thrive.”
Johnson’s passion and experience are on display in every project he has worked on, from multibillion-dollar international projects to local sustainability projects. He partners with major oil and gas clients on project development and risk identification/mitigation to execute complex, multidisciplinary projects. Recently, Johnson led HDR’s team in the development and execution of Black Hills Energy Natural Bridge Gas Pipeline project, a 35-mile pipeline with two greenfield metering and regulation stations.
Johnson holds a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from South Dakota State University. An active member of the Western Energy Institute and the American Gas Association, Johnson said, “I very much enjoy the opportunity to support our industry by exchanging lessons learned with people of all ages, and working collaboratively to develop new technology and evolve the energy market.”
