Natural Capital Specialist and Senior Consultant King Joins Stantec in Austin
King has provided technical leadership, incident response support and strategic regulatory advocacy to resolve environmental liability across numerous arenas since the start of her career. For more than 30 years, King has designed solutions for clients and the environment.
Natural capital has been King’s passion since the 1990s. Filling the role of a Natural Resource Trustee for the State of Texas in the early 1990s, King acquired NRDA experience both in the expertise of process and the utilization of quantification methodologies. As a Trustee, King developed an appreciation and understanding of natural capital’s underpinning of quality of life. King has extrapolated these approaches to attain balance within arenas including Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act; Superfund, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; emergency response; permitting and planning; corporate sustainability; mergers and acquisitions; and property divestments.
King has implemented strategies both domestically and internationally for the United States Department of Defense and industrial sectors including oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, transportation and infrastructure. Additionally, King provides strategic regulatory interface, legislative rulemaking and stakeholder negotiations.
King holds a bachelor’s degree in geology and earth sciences from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
