AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approves financial assistance totaling approximately $82.3 million for water and wastewater projects.
- $2.14 million to the City of Gordon (Palo Pinto County) for water system improvements
- $122,449 to the City of Mertzon (Irion County) for a lead service line inventory
- $1 million to the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District (Carson, Gray, Donley, Roberts, Armstrong, Potter, Hutchinson, and Wheeler counties) for an agricultural water conservation loan program
- $7.4 million to the City of Pearsall (Frio County) for water system improvements
- $39.32 million to the City of Port Lavaca (Calhoun County) for wastewater system improvements
- $11.31 million to the City of Rio Grande City (Starr County) for water system improvements
- $7.71 million to the Angelina and Neches River Authority (Angelina County) for a water system project
- $11.71 million to the City of Jacksonville (Cherokee County) for wastewater system improvements
- $1.58 million to the Westwood Shores Municipal Utility District (Trinity County) for a lead service line replacement project
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood mitigation, and agricultural water conservation projects.
