Fleischman's professional career began in 1998 when he worked as an Engineer-In-Training for a consulting firm. He later joined TxDOT in 2003, serving in various roles within the Amarillo District, including District Design Engineer. In 2008, he transitioned to the City of Amarillo, where he held the position of Assistant City Engineer from 2008 to 2010. In July 2010, Fleischman returned to TxDOT as the Dumas Area Engineer in the Amarillo District, a role he held until August 2014.
Following his tenure as the Dumas Area Engineer, Fleischman accepted an opportunity at Xcel Energy, a public utility company. There, he was promoted to Regional Manager of Transmission System Performance. In this capacity, he oversaw asset management and performance for approximately 20,000 miles of transmission lines and 2,000 substations across seven states. In early 2023, Fleischman transitioned to the consulting industry, serving as an Engineering Manager at HOHE Design Engineering.
However, in October 2023, Fleischman felt the call to return to TxDOT. He joined the PEPS Division as a Procurement Engineer, where he has since served 18 urban and rural districts. His public service and expertise have led to his appointment as the North Travis Area Engineer.
