A few years after receiving a Bachelor of Science in information systems from the University of Texas at Arlington, Rollings began work at Herzog Technologies, Inc. as a Systems Engineer supporting railroad dispatch maintenance projects. These projects included the infrastructure on which commuter railroads such as Trinity Railway Express, New Mexico Rail Runner, Denton County Transportation Authority, and North County Transit District operate.
Rollings excelled at working within complex information systems and adapted well to evolving technologies. Consistently delivering quality work, Rollings earned a promotion to Director of Back Office Systems in 2017. At age 29, he is now in charge of managing Herzog’s Office Systems team.
“Travis takes great pride in building systems that simplify technology. His ability to apply industry knowledge to technology and then relate it to each client’s distinct objectives, purpose, and scope is exceptional,” said Jim Hanlon, President of Herzog Technologies, Inc.
Rollings has been instrumental in the creation of Herzog’s PTC Hosting solution starting at its inception. He built the initial concepts and business models, drove technology decisions and strategic partnerships, assembled the team of technology professionals, and eventually implemented the system that today supports nine different short line and commuter railroads.
