Skanska USA Promotes McCaffrey to Vice President - Project Executive, Sitzman to Vice President - Operations

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Skanska USA, a construction and development firm, announces that Matt McCaffrey has been promoted to Vice President - Project Executive and Keith Sitzman has been promoted to Vice President - Operations.

McCaffrey, an industry veteran with 18 years of experience, joined Skanska in 2003 as an Intern and most recently served as a Project Executive. McCaffrey has led several high-profile projects across Texas, including Bank of America Tower in Houston and City Tower in San Antonio. McCaffrey's previous experience also includes multiple projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in San Antonio. In this new role, he will oversee Skanska’s projects in downtown San Antonio.

“Since joining Skanska, Matt has demonstrated great leadership, particularly from a commercial and contractual perspective,” said Ryan Aalsma, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Skanska’s San Antonio and Austin construction operations. “Throughout his career, Matt has demonstrated diligence, dedication, and commitment to continuous improvement. We welcome him into this role and look forward to his contributions as we expand our construction operations locally.”

McCaffrey holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in construction management from Lawrence Tech University. McCaffrey is a registered Professional Engineer, LEED AP certified, and WELL AP certified. He is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Urban Land Institute, Architecture, Construction, and Engineering mentoring program, and the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects. At Skanska, McCaffrey is a subject matter expert in the Design Build Council and a member of the Escalation and Supply Chain team.

Since joining Skanska in 2002, Sitzman has primarily been involved with the construction management of health care and education projects including multiple projects for St. Philip’s College Campus, Christus Santa Rosa, Saint Francis Hospital (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Jackson Middle School for NEISD, Alamo District Service Operations, Air Force Villages, Northeast Methodist Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Pearland Medical Center (Pearland, Texas), Medical City Alliance (Fort Worth, Texas), and the Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. In his new role, Sitzman will continue overseeing multiple projects at St. Philip’s College Campus, Christus Santa Rosa, and Saint Francis Hospital.

“Since joining Skanska in 2002, Keith has demonstrated his expertise in creating a culture of operational excellence and his ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams,” Aalsma said. “Keith is engaged in a holistic approach to our business, which includes client satisfaction, market making, and strategic business planning.”

Sitzman graduated from Purdue University with a degree in building construction management. At Skanska, he is a member of the National Operations Leadership Council and a subject matter expert in the Higher Education Advisory Council, which analyzes market and industry trends. Within the local community, Sitzman is an advocate and fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
