HNTB Resident Engineer, Dishman, Honored with 2020 Leadership Award from the American Segmental Bridge Institute
Over the past four decades, Dishman has served as Erection Engineer, Casting Engineer, Designer, Designer's Representative, Resident Engineer, or as a Special Consultant for contractors and design consultants for more than 18 segmental bridges. These projects include: the Florida Keys Bridges, Linn Cove, Dauphin Island, Wando River Bridge, Vail Pass (Bear Creek), Red River Bridge, Sunshine Skyway, San Antonio "Y" Projects, Jamestown Bridge, Natchez Trace Arch, Choctawhatchee Bay, Tren Urbano, and 17th Street Causeway.
These structures incorporated various construction methods including precast and cast-in-place box girders, span by span erection, balanced cantilever, and progressive placement and represent a combined construction cost of $2.58 billion.
A member of the American Segmental Bridge Institute since its inception, Dishman has served various functions in the organization, most notably on the Construction Practices Committee. This group published the first edition of "Construction Practice for Concrete Segmental Bridges Handbook" in 2005 and recently finished the 3rd edition in 2019.
