HOUSTON, TX — Sina Amini, PE, has joined planning, engineering, and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) as a Team Leader of the stormwater business group. Based in Houston, Texas, Amini will be instrumental in continuously expanding LAN's coastal engineering practice.
Amini brings a decade of experience as a Coastal Engineer and Project Manager, having participated in the successful development and implementation of large-scale coastal projects with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) such as the Sabine‑Neches Waterway Channel Improvement Project, Freeport Harbor Channel Improvement Project, and Brazos Island Harbor Channel Improvement Project.
With extensive experience guiding multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects from planning through execution, Amini will bring insights to the needs and requirements of agencies and clients. His expertise will be instrumental in expanding LAN's services to align with the strategic goals of the organizations with which LAN possesses long-term partnerships, such as the Galveston Bay Foundation and the Texas Coastal Management Program.

Amini holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from University of Hormozgan, Iran and a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of New Orleans. He is also an expert in data science in coastal engineering, specializing in oceanic and atmospheric data.
